Andersonville Trail

Driving the scenic, historic loop off of I-75, I see picturesque rural countryside of Georgia. Quaint Antebellum and Victorian towns are filled with beautiful pecan and peach orchards. The air is full of nature fragrance.

According Georgia 2005-2006 official highway & transportation map, Andersonvilla Trail is one of Must See’s Along Georgia’s Interstates. It offers a collection of American history sites, including the cornerstone, Andersonville, the National memorial to alll American POWs (Prisoners of War).

I begin my visit in the National Prisoner of War Museum, start from watching 27 minutes audo-visual program entitled "Echoes of Captivity" in the theater. Listening the orientation to the overall prisoner of war story, tears cannot help coming to my eyes.

Then with that melancholy mood, I continue visiting the historic prison site and the National Cemetery.

…It is an impressive trail.
